Greetings from Antigua,
Today was bittersweet. We are excited to return to family, beds, and AC, but our experience in Dominica was just…amazing. We had an early wake up this morning so that we could do a deep clean of the Resource Center where we stayed for the program. Then, we departed for the airport.
On our way to the airport we stopped by a black sand beach (so cool!) to do a group reflection on our experiences in Dominica. Unfortunately, we did not do a “crack an impression” competition (a Pirates of the Caribbean reference). Once at the airport, everyone made it through security okay and we only lost a couple of tubes of toothpaste.
A 30-minute plane ride got us and all our luggage (yay!) to Antigua where we were met by a beautiful, yellow hotel. To wrap up the night we had one last beautiful dinner with beautiful people. Finally, we had the last nightly circle of the program where we talked about the transition back home after such a transformative experience.
We can say for certain that we are going to miss each other.
See you soon!
