Weekend of waterfalls!

At the end of last week, students repainted a wall along the main road in Bense that had faded. We brought it back to life with bright colors and fun decorations. We also started work painting another wall in the community.

Our welcoming wall in town.
A fresh coat of paint to get a wall ready for decorating.

On Friday we drove to the Roseau Valley and settled into our hotel with a delicious dinner. We woke up early on Saturday and hiked to Middleham Falls, the tallest waterfall in Dominica.

Having fun at Middleham Falls.

With the storm coming Sunday evening, we opted for a quick visit to Trafalgar Falls in the morning before heading back to Bense. The most visited nature site on the island, the falls were breathtaking and provided some fun scrambling and wading in small pools.

Lower Trafalgar Falls (see if you can spot the students!).

Sunday evening during a storm, we hung out at the resource center and had a “candlelit” spaghetti dinner with our headlamps.

Weathering the storm!

We look forward to our last few days of service before celebrating the end of our trip and heading home.
